Hokey Pokey Science Explanation

Aim:

What causes the hokey pokey mixture to puff up?

What happens to the sugar mixture if you don’t add baking soda?

What happens to the hokey pokey if you put it into water?

Variable Change and Hypothesis - what happens if?

1. Control recipe

     I think the hokey pokey will be crunchie, soft in the middle. I also think the hokey pokey will be a little hard and sticky

Because when I felt sharon's hokey pokey it was a little hard and sticky.

Results the hokey pokey was clear like class you had to suck on it because it was hard and it would hurt your teeth                                                                                                                                                                       

2. Double the baking soda

     I think the hokey pokey will be a little bit harder than the first one. 

Because the first control recipe seems hard when i look at it.

Results double the baking soda was hard on the outside on the inside it was crumbly and soft.

3. Four times the amount of baking soda 

     I think the hokey pokey will be really sticky and hard

I think that because I think the more baking powder the more hard and i just guest it will get more sticky.

4) No baking soda 

     I think the hokey pokey will be very sticky I think the baking powder forms it a little bit

5) Control  recipe put into ice

     I think the hokey pokey will be melted, sticky, hard on the inside because the ice would melt then the hokey pokey would melt i think the inside of the hokey pokey will melt i think the outside of the hokey pokey will be hard because  hokey pokey is normally hard and crunchy

Steps one to make paper rocket Materials sissers tape straw paper 

Step one 

pick up your peice of paper and roll it around your sraw but not too tight

Step two

ask a buddy to get a piece of tape and tape the end of the paper so no air could find a whole.

Step three 

pick up the paper and cut out a shape of a triange and then tape it to your paper rocket

Step four 

Pick up the paper rocket put it on top of the straw and blow out of the straw and watch the paper rocket fly 

THATS HOW YOU MAKE A PAPER ROCKET.

LEARNING TE-REO NUMBERS WITH LISA-MAREE

Learning Maori with Lisa-Maree we learnt how to count up to ten-twenty. We played bingo 

with the Maori numbers the winners were Kaylee ,Abby and we had a draw between cadence and 

Noah they were the three/four winners I really in joyed working with Lisa Maree she was a super

star teacher. to count in teens it was a pattern because eleven was teko ma tahi and you would just 

haft to do teko ma for twelve and you do that for thirteen as well.

Last Monday I had a partner called  Chelsey we made a Battlebot it was so much fun what were used was tape and a straw here's a picture of me making a Battlebot base  these are the steps 

You will need 

• Tape 
• A straw
• A plastic cup
• Coloured paper
• A sperrow 

Step one Decorate your face for your battlebot here's the face me and chelsey made 

Me and Chelsea made a top but that's optional you don't have to make a top for your Taniwha battlebot 

Once you have made your face stick it on your plastic cup  with the tape Here's a photo of our Taniwha battlebot put all together

Cut out the shape of Your top

Then tape On your Taniwha battlebot 

What to do with your straw 

Ask an adult to stick your pen onto your store and then stick the straw onto your Taniwha battlebot That's what you do with the straw

What to do with your ballon 

Step one Blow Up Your Balloon 

And stick your balloon onto your Taniwha battlebot

 would sure make my boss mad if he found out that I lied to him. I'm also worried that my human
 friends are
going to find out about my super hero life. What do i do i'm going completely crazy Im so Confused i have know idea what to do? Oh yes i know exactly what to do Just tell the tru

Monday Mash up

I experience new way to make play-dough. It was very interesting .I have never made play-dough this 

is a new experience for me.

I was so surprised it worked at first as it was all clumpy and the food coloring wasn't working at first but it was.

I thought it was failing but it actually wasn't  and it turned out to be quiet nice.

The group who was teaching me were going to do some 

thing with it on Monday but I was lucky we didn't do anything

with it because I lost the play dough and I still haven't found it.
